Content made for Cavern adapts to any sound system you have in any environment. Cavern even supports in-floor speakers, thus creating great quality height representation and environment simulation. Unlike others, Cavern is completely free for anyone, no additional equipment is needed, and has no software limitations on speaker and object count.
With minimal setup, Cavern's automatic calibrator, , sets up any standard calibration in even under a second per channel. With advanced features and the sheer power of a PC, the audio quality resulting from using most automatic calibrators, including actual cinema processors, can easily be surpassed, even with a single microphone.
Everything Cavern does is designed to provide the lowest possible latency, which means a single sample. All features can be provided in real-time, with the only latency present is the environment you build on. Cavern is easily able to live in harmony with actual cinema hardware and provide spatial audio for content that wasn't even created that way.
The development goal for Cavern is simple: make it the ultimate all-in-one audio processor. This goal led to the creation of theatre and stage listener adaptation, an automatic volume and panning recalibration based on occupied seats in real-time. What used to be only possible with extremely expensive acoustic room treatment, Cavern can do it in software.
There is always room to expand Cavern's capabilities. One such experiment is Cavern4D, which generates seat movement automatically for your content, only by listening to audio cues. Headphone virtualization is also available.
